About the Event
This Hand Drum Workshop is ideal for first time drum makers, and is also a favourite among groups who need a shorter duration workshop, and/or incorporated as a stress reliever to unwind from intense training sessions. We open with a Thanksgiving Address, Smudge, Introduction Circle, Gratitude Spirit Song, Drum Teachings and then the ‘hands on’ workshop begins. This workshop allows for a greater degree of ‘Dressing’ the Drum with regards to the method used in lacing. Participants are introduced to our ‘Buddy System’ approach in fostering healthy and supportive community ideals. Time permitting, a Sharing Circle is held at the completion of the workshop.
